Jonny Swift plus an ever expanding collection of car
boot fair acquired musical instruments make up Durham town’s best kept secret….
the warms.
"Originally I was a bass player & guitarist that
learned the hard way (working in recording studios in London, making tea & not sleeping for days on end) to
engineer & produce rough & ready dance music & hip hop during the
90’s white label revolution. I had my share of successes but eventually fell
out of love with the whole scene…. I kind of lost who I was and what I was about, absolutely
and totally"
"Luckily at just the right time a chance meeting with
a girl from Sunderland breathed life back into me and she bought us back to
live in the Northeast, a place I’m now very proud to call home. Music would
always call me back though and eventually when I decided to write some songs
using only the equipment & instruments that happened to come my way (kind
of like I used to when I very first started recording as a kid on a little
tascam 4 track) all the magic of the world you enter when you sit alone with
just your imagination, some noise making gear and a recording device for
company came flooding back and ‘the warms’ were born"
All Jonny’s songs are pulled from the real life
experiences shared by him & the surroundings he now finds himself in.

“I guess some do reflect sadder sides of life, loss,
panic attacks, melancholy moods etc but those are the things that I carry
around with me everyday and those are the things that make life so very sweet
when the sun is shining on you”
We are very proud to include the warms in the
dollywash collective, a band that truly wears its heart on its sleeve. You can chat
directly to Jonny about life or music over at myspace/the warms
Thankyou loads for reading & listening….
